- Dried spaghetti
- Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
- Garlic cloves
- Small onion
- Crushed canned tomatoes
- Canned tuna
- Parsley
- Salt & pepper
- Chilli pepper flakes (optional)

There is something ridiculously good with infusing EVOO with garlic and having that as your sauce base. Yeah – I’m looking at you Spaghetti Aglio Olio. So simple yet so satisfying. This pasta with tuna is no different.

How To Make Pasta with Tuna
Pasta with Tuna
Ingredients
- 500 grams dried spaghetti (or any long pasta)
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
- 1 small onion, diced
- 400 grams / 14oz crushed canned tomatoes
- 185 grams of canned tuna
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- salt & pepper to taste
- Chilli pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the dried spaghetti minus 1 minute the required cooking time. Reserve a cup of pasta water for the sauce.
- Add extra virgin olive oil to a large pan over medium-high heat, and when warm enough, cook the garlic until fragrant. Add the onion and cook until softened.
- Then add the crushed tomatoes and 1/2 cup of water. Let it simmer for 3 minutes. Add the tuna and break it into chunks.
- Add the cooked pasta and 3/4 cup of pasta water and toss. Splash more pasta water as needed. Add the chopped parsley and toss again. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with chili pepper flakes if you want a bit of heat.
